The Egypt SIM card, combined with an international mobile phone, is the most simple and economical solution for making and receiving mobile phone calls while in the Egypt . All incoming calls while in Egypt are FREE, regardless of where they originate. Pay the local rate for local calls and use a mobile phone in Egypt like you do at home. Since this SIM card is prepaid, there are no monthly fees and no need for a contract.

Rates
Domestic calls
All domestic calls are EGP .75 ($0.13 USD) per minute.
All incoming calls are free, regardless of where they originate.
Incoming text messages are free. Outgoing messages are 0.50 EGP ($0.09 USD) each.
International Calls
When making international calls you will be charged a per minute rate plus EGP .75.

Coverage
Activating your service
Your Egypt mobile phone number is printed on the white sticker affixed to your SIM card and begins with 012.
To activate your service:
- Travel to Egypt .
- Be sure that the battery is adequately charged.
- Insert the SIM card into your GSM phone*.
- Turn your phone on.
- Enter the PIN code (defaulted to 1234)^
- Start calling.
* You will need to snap out the thumbnail sized SIM card along the perforated edge of its holder and then insert the SIM card into your international mobile phone with the gold contacts of the SIM card facing the metal contacts of your mobile phone.
^Your phone will prompt you for a 4 digit PIN code (defaulted to 1234). The PUK included is only required to unblock your phone if you enter in a PIN code incorrectly 3 times. Follow your cell phone manual instructions to correctly use the PUK to unblock your phone.
Making and receiving calls
How to make a call
To make an international call from your Egypt mobile phone dial 00 (or +), followed by the country code (1 for the US), area code and phone number.
How family and friends call you
Family and friends need to dial the international prefix, followed by the country code 20 and your mobile phone number, omitting the first 0 (zero).
For example, when calling from the United States, callers need to dial 011 20 and then your mobile phone number.
Recharging your account
To add credit to your Egypt SIM card, you will need to purchase recharge vouchers, also called reload codes. You will find these vouchers at most convenience stores, Mobinil authorized dealers and distributors in Egypt. They are available in 7 EGP denomination: 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 200 and 300.
To recharge your account:
- Purchase a recharge voucher.
- Scratch off the grey protective layer to reveal your 14 digit voucher code.
- Enter your voucher code.
Do not purchase another Egypt SIM card when your credit is depleted! You only need a recharge voucher!
Contacting Customer Service
Customer service for your Egypt SIM card is available 24/7 by dialing 110 from your mobile phone.
Service life
You SIM card will expire from 2 months after you arrive in Egypt and turn on your mobile phone. Each time you recharge, the 2 month validity period re-starts.
If you do not recharge your SIM card within the 2 month period, the SIM card and phone number will be recycled and any remaining credit will be forfeit. To get connected again you will be required to purchase another SIM card.
